House of the Minimum

One of the most amazing historic sites in Buenos Aires is the Minima house, which is located in the old district of the city - San Lorenzo. It evokes interest among many tourists with its originality and history.

History of the structure

House Minima is the narrowest building in Buenos Aires. There are several legends connected with it, but they all agree that it was built for the slaves of rich families. Most likely, similar houses existed earlier at other magnificent buildings. In our time, the House of Mins is the only, although not accurate enough confirmation that the slaves in Buenos Aires lived separately from the families they worked for.

Our days

The house Minimal width is equated to 2 m. The thickness of its walls is 45 cm, due to this the premise is much already inside, rather than outside. In the building there is a door and a window with a balcony. A few years ago the house of Minim was bought by the owners of the restaurant "El Zannon de Grandes", which is opposite. They remade the historic building, gave it modernity inside to organize solitary romantic dinners or celebrations. Now in the house there are three small tables, which must be reserved in advance.

How to get there?

The house of Minima is located in a small side street of San Lorenzo. Just a block from it there is a bus stop, buses №№ 8A, 8B, 8C, 8D run to it. If you are traveling in Buenos Aires by private car, then head along Independencia Avenue to the intersection with Deffence Street, there turn north and turn onto the alley of San Lorenzo.
