The principle of the split system

In the modern world, the air conditioning system has long been not a luxury, but quite the contrary, it has become a household appliance. Due to its high functionality, the air conditioner creates the most favorable climatic conditions in the room for human health.

What is a split air conditioner?

Split system is a device that is responsible for creating and maintaining in a closed room certain parameters: temperature, purity, humidity and air speed. Unlike a conventional window air conditioner that combines a fan and a cooling element into one housing and is installed directly into the window opening, the split system consists of two units for installation inside and outside the room, which are connected together by copper pipes. Thus, the split system is a closed circuit in which Freon circulation constantly occurs.

What is an inverter split system?

The non-inverted air conditioner operates on the principle of turning the compressor on and off when the set temperature is raised or lowered into the room. And the inverter split system automatically reduces the power output when it reaches the set room temperature and maintains it without losing power.

How does the split system work?

The principle of operation of any split system is the ability of the liquid to absorb heat during evaporation and to isolate it at the time of condensation. Compressor receives gaseous freon at low pressure, here it is compressed and heated, and then enters the condenser, where it is blown with cold air and becomes a liquid. From the condenser Freon is sent to the thermostatic valve, cools down and enters the evaporator. Here, taking heat from the air, freon passes into a gaseous state, as a result of which the air in the room cools and the entire refrigeration cycle begins again.

It should be noted that some air conditioners except the cooling mode of air in the room, can also work in heating mode. The principle of operation of the split-system for heating is based on the same process as cooling, only the outdoor and indoor unit, as it were, are interchanged. As a result, evaporation takes place in the outdoor unit, and condensation takes place in the internal unit. However, the heating of the premises with the help of a split-system is possible only at a positive outdoor temperature, otherwise the compressor will break down.
