Vaccinations for a trip to the UAE

If you are going on vacation abroad, ask in advance whether you will require a certificate of vaccination. And even if the answer is negative, health problems are always better to warn. Let's find out how!

Compulsory vaccination

Officially vaccinations for trips to the UAE (as well as to Egypt or Turkey) are not needed, and no medical certificates from tourists are required.

Desirable vaccinations for a trip to the UAE

However, there are diseases that can overshadow your long-awaited vacation. Coming to any country, there is a risk to face "strange", unusual microbes, and spend a few unpleasant days in a hotel room or even in a hospital. To prevent this from happening, doctors recommend to insure themselves on this account and to vaccinate against such diseases in advance:

  1. Mosquito fever. It is transferred by insects similar to mosquitoes. They are especially active in May-July. The disease lasts up to 3 days, accompanied by fever, herpetic eruptions on the lips, headache, swelling of the face, but there is a risk of complications in the form of meningitis. Vaccination from mosquito fever is done 2 months before the trip.
  2. Hepatitis B. This disease does not need to be presented, nor is it vaccinated against it, which even newborn babies do. For a trip to the UAE, it is desirable to get an inoculation against hepatitis B in advance (for six months or 2 months).
  3. Rabies. Travelers who are planning a passive holiday on the territory of the hotel, this disease is not threatened. But active tourists and those who enter the UAE for work, should be vaccinated against this disease, carried by animals, including bats.
  4. Typhoid fever. This is a very dangerous disease, therefore it is desirable to be grafted from it to those who value their health. This is usually done 1-2 weeks before the start of the trip.

It is necessary to adhere to the vaccination calendar (this applies to both children and adults) and to vaccinate against tetanus, diphtheria, rubella, mumps, measles.

Although the risk of cholera in the UAE and Turkey is minimal, it exists. In this case, you will not be saved by vaccinations, but by thorough hygiene. To wash, brush your teeth, wash fruit should only be boiled water, and for drinking use exclusively bottled.
