In order to travel to the territory of Bulgaria, Russians need a visa. It can be obtained in several ways: contact one of the visa centers in Bulgaria or the embassy. In general, the process of issuing permits to Bulgaria is not complicated. Moreover, since February 2015, it has been even more simplified. What kind of visa is needed in Bulgaria?
There are several different types of visas for visiting Bulgaria depending on certain factors. It:
- Short-term - for tourism or if you want to visit relatives;
- group - for persons who are citizens of the same specific state and gathered in a group, they are allowed to stay up to 30 days without changing the composition of the group upon departure;
- transit - for persons who need to cross Bulgaria in transit within 24 hours, Russians do not need to receive such a visa if they simply change planes and are not going to leave the airport;
- immigration - for people who want to obtain a residence permit or at all stay on permanent residence in this country.
How to get a visa to Bulgaria?
Registration of a visa to Bulgaria through a tour operator requires the collection of the main package of documents, among which:
- a foreign passport, which will remain valid for another three months after the end of the journey;
- photocopy of the first page of the passport;
- a visa application form on 2 pages in a single copy (for each child a separate application form is filled in);
- questionnaire;
- two photos: in color, without stamps, corners, glasses, prescription no more than six months;
- a copy of the birth certificate of children;
- a copy of the permission to export the child (notarial) if he flies or travels with one of the parents.

Self-service visa for Bulgaria in 2015
For self-submission, you will need approximately the same list of documents. To it it will be necessary to add:
- two photocopies of the first page of the passport;
- copies of all other pages of the passport;
- a certificate from the official place of employment on the letterhead of the enterprise in which the position, experience, salary with the signature of the director (chief) and the seal of the enterprise are registered;
- proof of financial ability to make a trip (traveler's checks, bank statement, currency purchase certificate ...);
- copy and original of med.polis, operating in European countries;
- a copy and original of the air or railway ticket or confirmation that you have booked these travel documents.
The cost of a visa to Bulgaria for Russians
If you buy through an operator, the visa cost will be sixty-five Euros for adults and twenty-five Euros for children under six. If you submit documents directly to the Consulate, the prices will be slightly different. So, for Russian citizens the visa will cost thirty-five Euros, and for children it is completely free. If you need a visa urgently, you will have to pay a double fee - seventy euros.
If you apply for a visa yourself, but through a visa center (VFS), for each adult it will cost you thirty-five Euros + 836 rubles (service fee). For children, the cost is only the amount of service charge, that is 836 rubles. Urgent visa - seventy euros + 836 rubles.
