Visa to Chile

Chile is a beautiful exotic country with a good-natured population. Residents of the former CIS countries are trying to get here to see unusual sights and many interesting places. Going to this South American country, the tourist immediately asks the question: do I need a visa in Chile?

Visa in Chile for Ukrainians and Russians

In April 2015, between the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Ambassador of Chile in Ukraine, an agreement was signed to establish a visa-free regime between the countries. Now Ukrainians can stay in Chile for 90 days without a visa. But only if the reason for your arrival is a tourist or guest trip.

Ukrainians visit Chile quite infrequently, perhaps, so the country decided not to open the Chilean embassy. In order to apply for a long-term visa or to ask questions to the consuls, you must apply to the embassy, which is located in Moscow. You can submit documents by courier.

In 2011, Russia adopted a law on the termination of the visa regime, which made the trip to the exotic country of Chile much easier. Now the Russians, like the Ukrainians, in order to have a rest in Chile for three months simply collect a small package of documents, which is used to issue a long tourist visa already after. You will need:

  1. Foreign passport, which will be valid for another 30 days after the end of the trip.
  2. Return ticket. It is he who guarantees that you will not stay here more than 90 days.
  3. Money: cash or bank card. Financial resources guarantee that you will be able to secure your stay in the country and not create problems on financial grounds.
  4. Migration card.

If you have a child with you, then you need to bring your birth certificate, and if the pensioner - a certified copy of the pension certificate. When the purpose of the trip is to stay with relatives or friends, you need an invitation from a private person that will confirm the purpose of your visit.

Such a set of documents is needed, both for Russians and for Ukrainians. Another bonus for the citizens of these two countries is the possibility of extending the tourist visa without leaving the country. If you have good reasons for this, then you need to visit the Department of Foreign Representatives in the city of Santiago and increase the length of stay in the country.

Visa to Chile for Belarusians

Unlike citizens of Russia and Ukraine, Belarusians need a visa to visit Chile. Surprisingly, Belarus refers to such a small part of the states that have not yet signed an agreement with the South African country on the abolition of the visa regime. Therefore, even if you decide to stay in Chile for only a couple of days or will be traveling in this country, you still need to collect a full package of documents for visa processing. So, first you need to determine which visa you need a one-time or multiple. In the first case, you can arrive in the country for not more than 30 calendar days, and multiple allows you to increase this period to 90 days.

The Embassy of Chile in Belarus is absent, therefore it is necessary to apply to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus or to issue a visa directly to Chile. This is permitted in many cases. You cross the border with the necessary package of documents and in the shortest possible time you give it to the embassy. So, what documents are needed:

  1. Color photo on a white background 3x4 cm.
  2. The original of the foreign passport and its copy, certified by a notary.
  3. A completed visa application form.
  4. A birth certificate is required for children. The cost of a visa is about 10 USD.
