Museum of Art and Science

Singapore is an amazing state, and there is nothing strange in that the only museum in the world for the most creative and thinking people - the Museum of Art and Science (ArtScience Museum) - is located in Singapore. It is located on the cape of Marina Bay, near the beautiful Heliks bridge , at the foot of one of the ten most luxurious and expensive hotels and casinos in the world. Along with the neighboring complex, the museum itself is a Singaporean landmark , as well as a venue for major international contemporary art exhibitions such as Cartier jewelry masterpieces, an exhibition of the Titanic's death, a demonstration of Salvador Dali art and some others.

History of the museum

For visitors, the museum was opened on February 17, 2011, a big role with the idea and its implementation was made by Singapore's Prime Minister Li Sianlong, and the author of the project was the well-known architect Moshe Safdi. The building of the museum is very similar to the lotus flower, it rests on ten columns, the arrangement of which resembles a basket of a balloon. The construction of the building is unique, it consists of elements of stainless steel, which are covered with a seamless reinforced polymer, which was previously used only for the construction of yachts of the highest class. The roof has a pool, where all the rainwater flows and accumulates. Further, it adorns the main hall with a large waterfall, then goes through a rigorous cleaning system and is used for household purposes. Ten absolutely asymmetrical petals end with large windows through which natural light falls on the gallery. Thus, there is a significant scientific energy saving, and lighting and heating is used only in the lower rooms.

The museum has 3 floors, which host both main and temporary exhibitions in 21 rooms on an area of about 6,000 square meters. m. Unquestionable craving for creativity realizes itself in science and art, it is this idea that the founders try to show on each nominal floor: curiosity, inspiration and expression. You will be shown the revolutionary discoveries of Da Vinci, robotics, nanotechnology and much more. Some of the exhibits are presented in the form of a movie. A pond with lotuses and small fish is created around the museum, which complements the similarity of the building with the magic flower. Many believe that the flower arrangement is similar to the official greeting of the people of Singapore, where the petals are the fingers.

All exhibitions of the museum are a great desire to understand that it directs creative people, how they understand the nature of this essence, gaining certain skills that change the world of each of us. In the evening the building is highlighted with pinkish light. On the roof periodically arrange various shows, installations, concerts or fireworks.
