How to plant a hedge?

The hedge can be prickly, it is convenient to protect against uninvited guests and animals. Of course, a prickly hedge is more difficult to cut.

However, for example, bushes of barberry or sea-buckthorn can almost not be cut - the fence of these bushes and so it looks spectacular.
