Germany is a country with a stable life and well-established traditions, with unique landscapes, art and architecture, as well as great opportunities for study, business and treatment. That is why Germany never ceases to attract a huge number of tourists every year. However, it is not so easy to visit it, because first of all it is necessary to issue a Schengen visa. One way to obtain a visa for traveling to Germany is to arrange a visa by invitation. Let's take a closer look at how to make an invitation and apply for a visa to Germany.
What does the invitation to Germany look like?
Guest invitation to Germany can be done in two versions:
- Official invitation Verpflichtungserklaerung, which is issued personally by the inviting person in the Office for Foreigners on a special service letterhead with protective watermarks. This invitation is a guarantee that the inviter takes full legal and financial responsibility for his guest.
- A simple invitation printed on a computer in free form, according to which all financial costs are borne by the guest himself.
How to apply for an invitation to Germany?
An inviting party may receive an official invitation form for Verpflichtungserklaerung from the Office for
- foreigners after the submission of the following documents:
- passport;
- photocopy of the passport of the invited or accurate data (name, surname, date of birth, place of permanent residence, number of the passport, etc.);
- certificate of employment;
- a certificate of income for the last 3 months;
- a blanket description of the housing conditions that displays all the information regarding the housing: the name of the owner, the address, the total footage, the area of rooms, the data of all residents, etc. (the form for filling can be obtained at the town hall);
- a receipt for payment of the state fee of 25 euros.
In the event that the invited person assumes all financial obligations, it is possible to draw up a simple invitation to Germany, but then the guest himself must provide documents confirming his solvency. A simple invitation is made in free form in German and contains the following mandatory data:
- information about the inviting person: surname, name, residential address, citizenship, number of ausweis or passport, description of housing conditions, contact details (telephone, fax, e-mail);
- guest data: surname, name (as in the passport), date and place of birth, address, gender, citizenship, passport data;
- information on related or other links (eg, brother, friend, etc.);
- expected time, date and purpose of the visit.
At the end of the document must be the signature of the inviting person, which must be assured in the Office for Foreigners. The cost of the certification is about 5 euros.
An invitation issued in one way or another is sent by mail to the person invited to apply for a visa. The validity of the ready invitation to Germany is 6 months.
Visa for a trip to Germany by invitation
Required package of documents:
- Application form (can be found on the embassy's website or in the visa department).
- Passport (original and copy).
- 2 color photos on a light background.
- General passport (original and copy).
- Information about employment.
- A solvency document (for example, an extract from a bank account).
- Medical insurance for the amount of 30 000 euros, valid in all countries of the Schengen agreement.
- Documents guaranteeing repatriation (certificate of marriage, registration of emergency situations, etc.)
- Confirmation of ticket reservation.
- Invitation and a copy of the passport of the inviting person.
- Visa fees.
