Basket by yourself

At each of us in the house for certain there is a pile of the read newspapers and advertising booklets which like and are not necessary, and to throw out the hand does not rise. And rightly, do not steer the paper to scrap, because from it you can build a lot of interesting crafts, for example, weave a basket! It is exactly how to make a basket of paper with our own hands, and we will dedicate today our master class.

Newspaper basket

This basket of old newspapers is so simple that even a child can cope with it. To create it, you do not need any special skills or skills. Enough desire and zeal.

Progress:

  1. We'll get enough of the newspapers, put their sheets in tight strips and get to work.
  2. To begin with, we will cross-bind four newspaper strips cross-wise, as shown in the photo.
  3. Add the necessary amount of newspaper stripes on each side until our work reaches the desired size.
  4. It's time to move from weaving the bottom to the walls of our basket. To do this, we will insert another paper strip into the work and gently maintain the rest of the strips and continue the weaving in the vertical direction.
  5. We will weave into the work the necessary number of strips-rods, until the walls of the basket reach the desired height. The ends of each paper strip will be fixed using a stapler.
  6. Above, our basket will look like this.
  7. When the basket is sufficiently stretched to the height, we will mercilessly cut off all unnecessary.
  8. Make the edges of the basket bright tapes.
  9. We attach a pen to the basket.

Wicker baskets made of paper

This way to weave a basket is very similar to the previous one, but the basket will be much more accurate.

  1. We cut newspaper strips into strips 7-8 cm wide, and then each of them folded fourfold.
  2. We start the work, as in the previous case, from the interlacing of four paper strips. Add new strips until we get the base of the desired size, in our case - 10 * 10 strips. Then go to the weaving of the walls of our basket, outlining the outline of the bottom with a thick thread. In this case, all the free ends of the strips are closed in a single web.
  3. After driving the walls of the basket to the desired height, bend their free ends inward and fix it with a stapler. All the excess cut off.

In the end we get here such a nice basket.

How to make a paper basket?

The third way how to weave a basket out of a newspaper is much more labor-intensive than the two previous ones, but the result will be much more rewarding.

  1. We'll make a basket in this case, we'll be out of newspaper tubes, having previously wound them from thin strips with the help of a knitting needle.
  2. We begin the work with the bottom of our basket, for this we cross several tubes and begin to braid them.
  3. When the bottom of our basket is of the desired size, we proceed to weaving the walls.
  4. To ensure that the structure does not crumble during the weaving, fix it with the usual clothespins.
  5. Continue to work this way until the basket reaches the desired height.
  6. We hide the free ends of the rods-tubules, wrapping them inward and pasting them. To ensure that the glue is firmly seized, fix all the points of gluing with clothespins and set aside until completely dry.
  7. We cover the basket with acrylic paint in several layers. Begin painting work you need from the inner surface of the basket, and only when it dries to go to the outer. It should be borne in mind that it is difficult to avoid splashes of paint, therefore, it is necessary to reliably protect them from clothing and workplace.

We get here such a wonderful basket that you can use for fruit, candy or knitting thread.
