Centrifugal fan

The fans are designed to direct the air in the desired direction. One of their varieties is a centrifugal fan, and the field of its application mainly relates to one or another type of production. From all other types of fans, it differs in size and number of blades (blades), as well as the direction of the bend.

The device of the centrifugal fan

All radial fans consist of components such as impeller mounted on the shaft, spiral housing, inlet and discharge nozzles.

When the gas enters the fan casing through the suction manifold, the direction of movement changes due to the operating blades of the impeller and then exits the delivery pipe in the radial direction.

Types of centrifugal fans

All centrifugal fans can be divided into two large groups:

The main difference between them is the temperature regime. In addition, the air itself, with which one has to work, differs.

Thus, a general-purpose fan is usually installed in rooms where there is no corrosive environment capable of causing corrosion, and there are no sticky air compositions. The air temperature should not exceed the maximum permissible. Usually this parameter is in the range from -35 to + 35 ° С.

If these parameters can not be met or if it is an emergency system, special purpose fans are installed. They also remove the smoke in addition to the exhaust air. They are distinguished by their durability and reliability, they can work in rooms with a particularly high temperature (up to 75 ° C).

The channel centrifugal fan is used to direct air masses in the circular channels of the exhaust and supply ventilation systems of public, domestic, industrial or administrative premises. Such fans are ready for installation and connection, they are allowed to be installed in any position, that is, it is possible to adjust to the direction of air flow.

Characteristics of centrifugal fans

What should I look for when choosing such a fan? The main characteristics include the performance of centrifugal fans, their power, the total pressure, the mass of the fan, the speed of the impeller, the type and number of vibration isolators.

The characteristics of the fans are obtained by directly testing them at a constant speed. Recalculating the standard characteristics for real, take into account the change in pressure and power on the shaft, which is proportional to the density of the gas supplied by the fan

.

The noise characteristic of the fan depends little on the number of revolutions, the material of manufacture and the acoustic environment around.
