- Angora hamster. This breed of homemade hamsters resembles a plush toy. The animal has small sizes and fluffy wool. By the way, it should be noted that only males differ in their "fluffiness". The length of the coat in females is not more than 2 cm.
- The Dzungarian hamster. The representative of this domestic breed of hamsters is small in size and has an original coat color in grayish tones. They have very capacious cheek pouches, they live up to 3 years.
- Hamster Campbell. These hamsters belong to the species of dwarfish and are very similar to the Jungar breed, but this is only externally. Their color is lighter and contains a distinctive contrasting dark strip on the back. These little sharks are very fond of running, so you need to choose a cell at least 30x50 cm.
- Hamster of Roborovsky. These representatives of domestic hamsters are also dwarfish, have longer legs than those of representatives of some other related species, their size is not more than 4 cm.
- A Syrian hamster. They are also called golden. To date, the breed of Syrian hamsters have been actively maintained at home. Previously, they were used mainly for the benefit of science. The weight of the animal reaches up to 200 grams, and the length is up to 19 cm. Very active and mobile.
- Hamster Radde. This species has fairly large sizes among the breeds of hamsters, they reach up to 28 cm in length. He lives only in the wild nature, in the mountainous steppe. It is a big enemy of agriculture and a vector of infections.
- The Sungur hamster. Representatives of this breed of domestic hamsters have black convex eyes, reminiscent of beads. In length, they reach up to 10 cm. A distinctive feature of this species are very large pocketing pockets, in which the animals diligently add up their reserves. That's why sometimes there is an impression that the hamster seems to be wearing bloomers.
- Ordinary hamster. The breed of ordinary hamsters differs in large sizes, which can reach up to 34 cm in length, so they practically do not contain at home. In addition, the animals also have a long tail, about 4 cm, looking like a rat. Their muzzle is also very similar to the rat.
