Cleavia does not blossom

Klivia is a very beautiful flowering plant. It is beautiful as flowers, and the leaves themselves - glossy, juicy, noble-green color. Blossom blossoms mainly in the winter months, thus bringing a note of warmth and comfort to the house, which is so necessary in the long cold months.

Cleavage flower requires proper care, then it will give up to 20 bright and large inflorescences on a long juicy peduncle. In principle, caring for the plant is not so difficult - it should not be too wet and hide from the light. In addition, he needs to provide a period of rest.

If the cleaver does not bloom

The most important reason why the cleavage does not bloom is that it lacks sunlight. In summer the plant needs bright but diffuse light, and in winter it can be placed a short distance from the southern or southeastern window.

If the flower is very short of light, it will certainly survive, but it's unlikely to bloom. Yes, and it will grow slowly. What to do if the clivia does not bloom is clear: you need to give her more light.

Another reason that a flower can refuse flowering is too poor soil in a pot. The flower needs to be fed periodically, especially during the growth period. This should be done about every 2 weeks, alternating organic and mineral fertilizers.

In order for the cleavage to bloom regularly, it needs periods of rest. If the plant is young, you need to give him peace during the period of September-October. What does it mean to give the plant peace? You need to take it to a loggia or a glazed balcony, where the temperature is kept at around + 10 °, stop watering, making sure that the leaves do not fall off. If the leaves dry up and fall off, you can slightly moisten the soil.

In November, the plant is again brought into a warm room, the usual watering begins and is put closer to the light. The older plant can be kept in the cold until the first frost begins. In January the plant will begin to form the flower arrows. Flowering, which began in February, will last about a month.

Diseases of the Cleavia

Diseases rarely cause a lack of flowers in the cleavage. Still, this problem is more associated with the wrong care of the flower, which was described above. As for the diseases most often affecting the plant - they mostly affect leaves, not flowers.

If the cleansing leaves yellow, this may be a result of natural aging, excessive watering, lack of nutrients, frequent transplants or a change of location.

If narrow rusty strips appeared on the leaves, this indicates the presence of a fungal disease - treat the plant with oxychome. Sometimes the leaves of the clivia are affected by parasites - scabies or mealybugs. Because of them, the leaves warp and wither. Parasites are removed mechanically with a soap solution and the addition of alcohol or kerosene. If the disease is started, insecticide treatment will be required.
