The decorative plant has recently decorated not only garden plots, but also urban parks, parks, territory in front of townhouses and courtyards of apartment buildings. The popularity of perennial garden primrose is easily explained by the fact that it is unpretentious and blooms for several weeks in a magnificent color.

Primrose primrose: cultivation and care

Planting primroses and caring for the plant does not require special knowledge of agricultural technology. It is recommended to plant flowers on slightly shaded areas, because at the onset of hot days, the primrose inflorescences, planted in the sun, do not fully open. The garden primrose grows well on nutritious loose soils with neutral acidity (it is also possible to grow on slightly alkaline and slightly acidic soils). If an unsuitable soil is at the site of the planned landing, it is recommended to add sand and ground sphagnum moss to improve its structure. For good vegetation, it is important that the soil where the primrose grows is moist and without weeds.

An obligatory condition for care of the garden primula is the introduction of additional fertilizing. In the beginning of spring organic fertilizers are introduced in the calculation of 15 kg per 1 sq. M. It is better if it is a mixture consisting of humus, compost, peat in a ratio of 1: 2: 1. In order to provide a lush bloom it is desirable to add phosphorus fertilizer (20 g per 1 m 2) and potash fertilizer (10-15 g per m²). Agrotechnicians recommend the second and third year to produce a single fertilizing in the spring with mineral fertilizers, in autumn - phosphorus and potassium fertilizers in quantities specified in the attached instructions.

Primrose primrose: reproduction

Reproduction of the plant is done by seeds and by dividing the bush. It is necessary to sow freshly harvested seeds at the end of summer into the open ground or boxes, and the second option is preferable, since with the onset of unfavorable weather conditions, the boxes can be brought into the room. Sowing in greenhouses is carried out in February. Seed density 4 - 5 grains per 1 cm. Seeds are pressed to the soil, the box is covered with a film and placed in a cool place. A month later, containers with crops are brought into a warm room in a shaded place. When two leaves appear, the shoots dive, you can dive directly into the soil to a permanent place. Plant seedlings at a distance of 15 - 20 cm from each other. Blossoms seeded primrose only after 1 - 2 years. Therefore, it is better to plant the primrose by dividing the bush.

Florists often wonder when it is better to transplant the garden primrose? In the third year, primrose primroses grow quite strongly, so transplantation has a beneficial effect on planting crops. Otherwise, the flowers will be reduced, and the inflorescence will lose its splendor. The most favorable time for transplanting the garden primrose by dividing the bush is early spring and end of August. But experienced gardeners note that primula planting can be carried out throughout the summer period, choosing the evening time and cool weather.

Some varieties of primroses (for example, Aurikula) can be propagated by cuttings, which are cut in May-June and planted on a shaded bed.
