Colpitis - symptoms

Colpitis (vaginitis) is a disease of the vaginal mucosa caused by various viruses (herpes, papilloma, cytomegalovirus and others), pathogens (staphylococcus, Escherichia coli, Trichomonas, Chlamydia ), as well as fungi of the genus Candida.

Chronic colpitis in women: symptoms and treatment

All types of colpitis have common symptoms. The disease is accompanied by a characteristic itching and burning of the inguinal region, secretions of a milky white liquid with a sharp specific odor, less often - unpleasant sensations in the abdominal region.

With chronic colpitis, the symptoms of the disease are slightly expressed and accompanied by more lax inflammatory processes, there are fewer cases with purulent discharge. Treatment of this form of the disease is a lengthy process that requires direct observation by a gynecologist, namely, diagnosis for the detection of colpitis causative agent, which will help in determining the further method of treatment.

Senile colpitis

Symptoms of senile (atrophic) colpitis are: dryness of the vaginal mucosa, dyspareunia, sometimes discharge with blood. The disease progresses in the postmenopausal period in women and is caused by a decrease in the level of estrogens. The development of senile colpitis contributes to the violation of the hormonal background of the patient, the general lack of vitamins in the body, as well as bad habits and irradiation of the ovaries.

Stem Colchitis

A common form of gynecological diseases observed in elderly women is senile colpitis, the symptoms of which are vaginal itching with purulent-bloody discharge. It is caused by extinction of the functions of the ovaries, weakening and thinning of the mucous membrane of the uterus, a general decrease in the immunity of the organism. Disturbance of microflora is also a catalyst for the development of senile colpitis.

Other types of colpitis

Acute and purulent colpitis has common symptoms caused by a severe form of inflammation of the vaginal mucosa:

Similar colpites are more common in women of reproductive (childbearing) age and often develop against the background of neglected infectious diseases or a general decrease in the body's immunity.

Bacterial colpitis (vaginosis) is characterized by a decrease in the microflora of the vagina, the concentration of rods that produce lactic acid, the main natural defender of the mucosa from microbes. Symptoms of bacterial colpitis are identical to acute colpitis, only they are less pronounced, cases of asymptomatic disease are seen.

Fungal colpitis is the last in a group of these diseases. It is caused by the defeat of the mucous membranes of the genital organs by the fungi of the family Candida. Symptoms of fungal colpitis are: itching, pain in the perineum, pain and specific diseases during intercourse. A distinctive feature is the appearance of a white foamy mass on the genitals.

A universal method of treatment of colpitis does not exist, since the causative agent of the disease may be various microorganisms in morphology. Accordingly, the first stage of healing is to determine the infection by passing certain tests. Based on the examination, the doctor-gynecologist prescribes an individual course of treatment. The main types of treatment for these diseases are douches with hygienic, antiseptic and disinfectant solutions with the use of antimicrobial and antiparasitic medicines such as Trichopolum , Metronidazole, Osarsol and others.
