Decoupage of Easter eggs, master class

For decoupage, you can use both boiled eggs, and wood blanks or empty shells. Just need to consider that on boiled eggs instead of glue it is better to use egg white and, of course, not paint them with colors.

  1. If we decorate a boiled egg, then this item is skipped. If we want to paint a wooden blank, then it's better to paint it first with white acrylic paint. In case of using an empty shell, it must be washed and well dried.
  2. Now determine the pattern that will be applied. Of course, it is difficult to find the easter theme for decoupage on napkins, but different flowers are also perfect. Usually, paper napkins with colorful three-layer drawings, we need only the first layer for work. It is very thin, so we separate it carefully so as not to damage the pattern.
  3. Separating the top layer, we prepare the picture for work. It needs to be divided into several parts, it is desirable to make them smaller. Because because of the rounded shape of the egg when gluing the pattern, folds are necessarily formed, but if small ones are not visible, the large folds can substantially damage the decor of the Easter egg. And of course, you need to cut out the drawing neatly, because the more carefully you do it, the more beautiful it will look on the egg.
  4. Next, we moisten the brush with PVA glue (if the egg is then used for food, then the glue is replaced with egg white or starch paste) and, applying the pattern to the egg, apply glue on top. To impregnate a napkin with glue it is necessary well that it was easier to level, by the way, it is done by the same brush. If you get very large folds, then they can be smoothed with a fingernail or gently pruned with a manicure scissors.
  5. When the pattern is completely applied to the egg, it should be left to dry. An empty shell can be stuck on a stick, and boiled eggs or wooden workpieces placed on stands (wine glasses, caps from plastic bottles). If you leave the decoupage for the night, then by the morning it will completely dry out. Do not try to speed up the drying process by drying the glue, for example, with a hair dryer. You run the risk of messing up the picture, the paper may go away in some places, and if it's a boiled egg, then it will very soon become foul, and it will not last long to enjoy such beauty.
  6. If you decorated boiled eggs, then after drying they can be placed in beautiful Easter baskets, given to friends and acquaintances, etc. If decoupage is used for empty eggshells or wood blanks, then you can work on them a little more. For example, to give the brightness of the picture with the help of acrylic paints or to emphasize the drawing with any contour. That is, continue painting the egg with paints, taking the glued picture as a basis, somewhere to add shadows, somewhere, on the contrary, glare, you have a real work of art ready. To all this beauty lasted longer, after drying the paints, cover the eggs with acrylic transparent varnish with a soft brush. You do not need to take a lot of varnish on the brush, so as not to blur the picture and do not spend too much time drying it. Lacquered eggs leave to dry. After decorating with ribbons and rhinestones, which can be fixed with glue. If you want a decorative egg made from an empty shell, hang it, then you need to take a holder for a Christmas tree toy and fasten it in the hole through which the contents of the egg were removed. Next, in the holder we pass a beautiful ribbon and ready. You can also pass through the egg thread, fixing it from below (outside) with a bead, larger than the hole size.
