Driving forces of mental development

Any person develops throughout his life. Development is a natural process, inseparable from life.

The problem of the driving forces of a person's mental development is studied by various schools of psychology from different angles. It is clear that development takes place according to a certain genetic program and under the direct influence of the environment (both natural and social).

The driving forces of the mental development of a person's personality are very diverse. We can say that this is a complex system, unique for everyone (although, of course, it is possible to identify some common biological, social and information factors for all people or groups of people).

For normal mental development of the child, the driving forces from the normal level that was formed at the time of birth are the natural contradictions between the emerging needs and the possibility of satisfying them. Needs in this case should be understood as biological, and social, cultural-information and spiritual-moral.

On the contradictions, their resolution and development of personality

Contradictions are overcome directly in real activity under the influence of education and upbringing. Life contradictions arise in a person at any age and for each age is characterized by its own specificity. Resolution of contradictions occurs both in a natural way, and with the application of mental efforts, with indispensable transitions to higher levels of mental activity. So gradually the personality passes to higher levels of mental development . The satisfaction of the need makes the contradiction irrelevant. Unmet needs create new needs. Thus, the contradictions are changing, and the development of man continues. Of course, this abstract scheme represents the process of development in the most general form.

Of course, the description of such a complex process as mental development, it is impossible and incorrect to reduce only to certain quantitative changes in the features, qualities and qualities of the individual.

About the features of the process

At certain age periods, the development of the psyche is connected and occurs with the formation of qualitatively new features, one might say, "neoplasms". Thus, the older a person, the more his personality is different from the personalities of others, that is, the percentage of uniqueness increases, although by the external signs it is not too noticeable. Alas, over the years, the sharpness and freshness of perception, characteristic of earlier ages, fade away, too, the fantasies are changing, but this is a natural, normal course of life.
