Albufera Park

The natural park "Albufera" (S'Albufera) occupies about 1700 hectares and is one of the largest parks in the Balearics . It was created from an old lagoon. In 1988, the park area was recognized as the first protected landscape of Mallorca.

The park is located 5 km from Port Alcudia in the southeast of Mallorca. It is separated from the sea by a strip of dunes. These are the largest wetlands in the Mediterranean, which are an oasis of tranquility and delight not only nature lovers, but almost everyone.

Here you can find more than 200 species of birds, among them - sultans, herons, flamingos, brown ibises and many others. Many migratory birds fly here to rest. In addition, there is also a rich world of fish, as well as many large dragonflies, butterflies, frogs, horses, reptiles and rodents.

You can admire the wild nature quite comfortably, as there are many pedestrian and bicycle paths leading through numerous bridges and observation posts in the park, so you can walk and bike there. It is forbidden to have picnics in the park. You can relax and relax at the tables at the information center "Sa Roca".

How to get to the Albufera Nature Reserve?

Entrance to the park S`Albufera is located near the bridge "Pont dels Anglesos". It is better to go straight to the information center (about 10 minutes walk), where you can get free permission to visit the park and its map. Binoculars can also be rented on site. The map shows all the most important places (pedestrian and bicycle paths, picturesque observation platforms) and other useful information. It is forbidden to bring pets with you to the park.

Working hours of the park

The park is open from April to September every day from 9:00 to 18:00. In the off-season, from October to March, the park closes an hour earlier - at 17:00. In Spanish or Catalan, there are free guided tours.
