To become a parent, it is not enough just to give a person life. We need to educate him, provide everything necessary and protect him from injuries and negative influence of the environment. It is in the family that the foundations of the person's character and outlook are laid. Already since birth, children absorb the world outlook of family members, their attitude to life.
There are certain duties of parents in the upbringing of children, which are recorded not only in the Family Code, but also in the Constitution. The government of all developed countries monitors the observance of the rights of the child. Failure of parents to fulfill their obligations to bring up a minor entails administrative and then criminal liability.
What should dad and mom do?
- Ensure the safety of life and health of children, protect them from injuries, illnesses, follow the doctor's recommendations for strengthening their health.
- Protect your child from the negative influence of the environment.
- The obligation to educate a minor also includes the need to provide it with everything necessary.
- Adults should monitor the physical, spiritual, moral and mental development of the baby, instill in him the norms of behavior in society and explain the incomprehensible.
- Parents should ensure that the child receives secondary education.
When it is possible to speak about non-fulfillment of duties on education:
- the child does not attend an educational institution;
- he is not provided with normal living and food conditions;
- parents do not care about the correct spiritual and moral upbringing of the baby, shifting these functions to television;
- The minor is at night outside the home, visits clubs, uses drugs and alcohol;
- the child is subjected to physical or moral violence by adults.
The World Convention on the Rights of the Child also notes that parents should take care of the upbringing of their children. And employment at work or a difficult financial situation is not an excuse that these duties are shifted to educational institutions.
