Crafts from postcards by own hands

Every mother has in her stocks old greeting cards, which seem to be no longer used, but it's a shame to throw it away. And do not get rid of them, because of the postcards you can make a lot of crafts with your own hands. And most importantly, most crafts can be done with children who will gladly join the fascinating occupation, and maybe even prompt what can be done from postcards.

Bookmarks from postcards: quickly and easily

We already offered several master classes of bookmarks from paper , as well as making an unusual bookmark-corner for books. To make a woven bookmark, we only need one postcard, a pencil with a ruler and scissors. We take a postcard and draw stripes about 1 cm wide on it. Offer the child to help you carefully cut the strips. Then add each strip in half, and the ends of the strip bend inward. So we add all the stripes, which will be joined as follows: insert the ends of the strip on the right into the hole of the strip on the left and tighten. With all the subsequent strips, we do exactly the same manipulations. The ends of the last link must be glued together. The woven bookmark does not disintegrate due to the fact that each subsequent link is held at the expense of the previous one.

Another way to make a bookmark from a postcard.

We take a postcard and fold it in half. Then each half must be bent in half again. The middle is cut into strips 0.5 mm wide to the fold line along the entire length of the bookmark. Then each strip has to be folded left and right in turn.

How to make a casket of cards?

Moms of girls know for sure that the small fashionistas always come in handy next box for jewelry, hairpin or beautiful little things. To make such a box is not so simple, therefore our master class will help you to make a wonderful hand-made article from postcards. For manufacturing we need postcards, cardboard, scissors, glue, awl and threads of iris.

1. First of all, we draw a diagram of our future postcard. Next, according to the scheme, we cut out the details in such quantity:

2. The details are cut out and in order to avoid their fidgeting when sewing, we fix them with glue. Next, make a hole in the edge of the parts at the same distance from each other. If the box you will have is as large as drawn on the diagram, then for some details there will not be enough length of postcards. They should be connected by machine zigzag or manually.

3. We sew all the details with a seam with a crochet, and then we sew together.

Vase of cards by own hands

Making a vase from postcards is very similar to the artwork of a casket. To do this, we need 14 old postcards, glue, awl, hook for knitting, threads of iris, glue. To start, we cut out the blanks: 6 pairs for sides and 1 pair for the bottom. All the pairs are glued together and let the glue dry. Then, by the same principle as in the manufacture of the casket, we first perforate all the details along the perimeter, and then sew together.

Pendant house from postcards - original decoration

Such a house will beautifully decorate a Christmas tree or a doorway. To make a craft, we take postcards, glue, scissors, a bead, a string and a few clothespins.

  1. First, we cut out the template, and on it 12 more exactly the same blanks. The details are bent in half and glued, applying, to each other.
  2. Glued details folded accordion and let dry. After that, in the middle we insert a thread with a bead and we can admire the beauty that has turned out.
