Decorative fishes are very popular among lovers of domestic aquariums. This is due to unpretentiousness, rapid adaptability to new conditions and the peaceful nature of fish. At the same time they are always active, mobile and eat almost any food.
General characteristics of aquarium fish:
- the fish trunk is elongated, slightly compressed laterally;
- all individuals are kept in the upper layers of the water;
- almost always the male is brighter colored, and the female has a larger body;
- breeding is possible in certain conditions and in the presence of a separate aquarium for spawning;
- The native land of most species is the countries of southern Asia, and only a couple of species are brought from Africa.
Types of sorting
Fishes are classified into 45 species. The most common of these are:
- The analysis of the heteromorph , also called wedge-shaped or clinch-like. On the barrels has a dark blue triangle, which is the hallmark of this species. Color fins and most of the scales - from copper to red, the abdomen and back are silver or greenish. Length up to 4.5 cm.
- Ribbon ribbon is distinguished by its miniature, is considered a dwarfish fish. Its maximum dimensions reach 3 cm in length. Color is very diverse, but always on the body there are transverse bands. The ribbon does not like bright light, it often hides in thickets of plants.
- The breeding spotted has mainly orange color, therefore it is inferior in color to its striped relatives. Another name for the fish is the sorting out of the makulata, the hummingbird. The characteristic features of individuals of this species are dark spots on the body, usually no more than five. Most often the spots have the right shape and are located in the same places in all fish. The length is 2.5 cm.
- The assortment of aspen or assortment firefly differs from its relatives in a dark longitudinal strip, slightly
thickening to the middle of the body, over which there is another band of red or gold color. There is a spot near the caudal fin. The main color is yellow or orange. The length is 3 cm.
Content sorting
The complaints are fish that prefer to live in a pack, so it's best to keep them for 10-15 pieces in a large aquarium. At the bottom of the artificial reservoir you need to put gravel, sand and several large stones. Required the presence of plants. Feed better with different feeds, and the light should not be bright.
