Glass interior doors of the compartment

To interesting and rather peculiar elements of the design of living space in some modern designs can be attributed glass interior sliding doors. They are installed in the first place when the doorway is not precisely defined, but there is a need to separate, for example, one large room into two.

Types of sliding glass doors

All glass sliding doors can be divided into types, first of all, depending on their external design - they can be frameless, when the door leaf is a one-piece glass; and frame, when the glass is inserted into the frame of a material (plastic, metal, wood). And the frame itself in glass sliding doors can serve as an additional element of the interior decor. Often, interior designers propose using such glass sliding interior doors, especially with a frame made of wood, to decorate the doorway between the room and the kitchen. In this case, the frame can be selected (made to order) in the same style as, for example, the facades of the kitchen set.

The next division parameter for the types of glass sliding interior doors, which are still known as the door-coupe, is the type of glass used. For doors, two types of glass (8-12 mm thick) are used - a special tempered and triplex with a two- or three-layer structure. Tempered glass, as the name implies, has a special processing technology (hardening), as a result of which it acquires special strength. In the case of a strong impact, such a glass is scattered into small pieces - they can not cause serious injuries. Triplex glasses use the technology of applying a special film that connects to the glass surface at the molecular level. Upon impact, this film prevents fragmentation of the fragments - the glass only crackes, but does not crumble. Each type of glass can have a different decoration, which is easy to choose for your taste and interior - using different techniques for drawing, matting, toning, inserts from colored glass or stained glass.

Glass sliding doors - this is not only the original design of the doorway, but also a way of visual expansion of the space, because outwardly they look easy and airy and moreover, they have a high degree of light transmission.
