Hannover attractions

Hannover is one of the most popular cities in Germany along with Munich, Hamburg and others. It is the administrative center of the Lower Saxony region and has a rich historical past. From XII to XIX centuries. The city was the capital of a separate state - the kingdom of Hanover, which for many centuries consisted in a political alliance with England. During the Second World War, the city suffered very badly, and in the 50s enthusiasts took up his rebuilding. The unique inclined lift allows tourists to climb to the dome of the Town Hall, where an observation deck is located, from which an excellent city landscape opens.

Old Town Hall - Hannover

This building was built in the 15th century, but over time it underwent considerable destruction and was partially replaced by the construction of the XIX century, which almost completely recreated the original appearance of the town hall. Of particular value are the stucco frieze of the building, which depicts portraits of Hanover princes, as well as the pediment of the building, adorned with numerous Gothic elements.

Hanover Zoo

It was founded in 1865 as a nursery for the breeding of wild animals. As a zoo, visitors opened their doors only in 2000. In the zoo are more than 3000 animals of 220 species, mostly representatives of Asian and African fauna. Walking around the zoo is not just an examination of the inhabitants, but is played in the form of an entertaining game based on the adventures of the first colonists. Twisting paths wander between rocks and lianas, now and then discovering in front of the surprised tourists that skeleton of the parachutist stuck in the thickets, then quite realistic archaeological excavations, everyone can take part in.
