Even those women who follow their health are prone to such a poorly understood and mysterious disease as endometriosis . In simple terms, endometriosis is the growth of the uterine endometrium.

This type of cells is nowhere found in the female body. When the disease occurs, endometrial cells migrate to other parts of the body, and continue to perform their functions in a new place.

Endometriosis has a clear hormone-dependent nature, so the main way to treat this disease is hormone therapy. There are two ways of treating this disease: conservative and operative. The first involves the use of hormonal drugs, which are used in endometriosis. All appointments must be made by a qualified technician. The main hormonal drugs prescribed by a doctor are:
- antigonadotropins;
- gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists;
- progestogens.
In the process of hormonal treatment of endometriosis, such drugs as Dufaston, Janine , Zoladex, Danazol, which are representatives of the groups listed above, have proved themselves well.
During hormonal treatment, drugs suppress a woman's menstrual function, as a result of which the growth and spread of endometriotic foci ceases. With a long course, in some cases, the foci decrease and disappear. In particularly severe endometriosis, doctors recommend creating conditions for a drug menopause, during which the cysts are removed. A successful option for long-term inhibition of the cycle (up to 5 years) is considered to be the intrauterine spiral Mirena.
Hormone therapy with endometriosis does not do without the use of drugs that help in the fight against the disease. It:
- anti-inflammatory drugs;
- antispasmodics (drugs used for severe pain);
- vitamin preparations.
If after prolonged therapy with hormonal tablets prescribed for endometriosis, there is no improvement, doctors resort to surgical treatment. In this case, after a successful operation, the course of endometriosis treatment with hormonal tablets is repeated after 6 months.
