At times we want to add to our interior original accessories, non-standard pieces of furniture or funny trinkets. But there is not always a financial opportunity to acquire such desired items. For example, a frameless armchair in the form of a sack or a drop has gained considerable popularity recently. If you also dream about it - our master class will tell you how to make a chair-bag with your own hands.
How to sew a chair-bag with your own hands?
- We prepare materials . If you decide to make a soft armchair with your own hands, first of all you will need to sew a pair of covers. The fabrication of the inner cover requires a 2.5 m long fabric (width - 1.5 m), on the outer cover - about 2.6-2.7 m (with the same width). The material is better to choose strong from natural fabrics, the outer cover should fit under the interior of the room and not slide.
- We make a paper pattern . We transfer the proposed pattern below to our paper and with the help of scissors we cut out all the paper parts.
- We cut out the cover . Paper patterns are transferred to the fabric and we cut the material into details: six wedges, four parts for the bottom (two each) and one detail of the top.
- Sew the cover . Fold the two wedges with the wrong side outward and sew, leaving the allowance to 1-1.5 cm. Similarly we do the rest with the wedges. After that, sew a zipper of a shorter length. We turn the workpiece to the front side and do a delay, taking the allowances. Next, sew the remaining parts of the bottom and top of the bag. We turn out the finished cover and iron it.
- We fill the inner cover . For convenient filling of the inner cover we take a plastic bottle, cut off its bottom and neck. Then we put the bottle in a bag with polystyrene beads and fix it to her. On the other side of the bottle we dress the inner case and fix it with a lightning bolt. Pour the polystyrene into the cover for two thirds and carefully close it.
- We collect a chair-bag . The outer cover is worn on top of the cover with a filler and fastened with a zipper. To connect the upper part of the covers, you can apply a velcro between them. That's so easy we made a home-made pear-chair with our own hands.
Also we will use: sewing machine , paper for patterning, thread, scissors, chalk, ruler, compasses, two zippers (0,5 m and 1 m), filler. As a filler, we take polystyrene granules (volume 200-300 liters).
The upper cover is sewn completely identical to the inner one.
