How to play the square?

There are plenty of moving ball games , but not all of them are as popular as the yard game "square" in a good company. This game is familiar from childhood to almost everyone. If the field was drawn in the yard, then most often it was necessary to wait for him to play. Many, having grown up, have forgotten how to play the game "square", it is decidedly unacceptable! This knowledge must necessarily be passed on to the next generation of young players.

Rules of the game

This game is for four people. The field for the game is a square, chalk drawn into four equal segments. If someone forgot the rules of the game in the "square" or does not know them, we will remind them. Before the start of the game in the "square" with the ball, the participants agreed on how many points the game continues (the standard amount is 20 points). Each player took up his own part of the square. The right of the first serve was usually played by throwing the ball up from the center of the square: on which part it fell, that and the first one to serve. The server was throwing the ball in such a way that after bouncing about his part of the field he jumped back and got into the "someone else's", which is on the diagonal. The defender has the right to hit the ball only after one touch on his part of the square. Almost like tennis, but only with feet. To beat off the defending ball has the right only with the feet, knee and head. After the first touch of the ball on the field to beat it is forbidden. If the server misses and does not hit the opposite quarter diagonally with the ball, then one point was read to him, and in the event that after the defender kicked the ball and it flew out of its range field, a point was read to him. The defender had the right not to immediately kick the ball to another field, he could stuff it, as he thought fit, being even outside his field, but not taking part in the field of opponents. After one of the participants-players scored five points, there was a change of the fields clockwise. The game ended when one player scored 20 points.

About 10 years ago, every boy in the yard knew how to play the "square" with the ball, but even nowadays, when video games have pushed the yard games, this game remains relevant. It is extremely exciting and interesting, except for this, those who played in the "square", excelled in football, because they knew how to control the ball. "Kvadrat" remembers many generations of domestic children, who for hours were lost to this fascinating game.
