Installation of entrance doors

Prices for repair work have recently increased significantly and many are trying to save by installing the front door with their own hands. This is correct, since the price of installing the door is very often equal to half the cost of the door itself.

Experts advise reinforcing armored doors on the anchor and on the plates at the same time. This method is the most reliable. If you bought a budget variant of a metal door (much cheaper than analogues of sales), then carefully check its equipment and quality. It often happens that there are no bolt holes in the door frame. You need to drill them yourself.

Door installation

The algorithm for installing the entrance doors is as follows:

1. Remove the old door.
2. Closely and accurately measure the doorway.

Leave the gaps (for the correct installation of the entrance doors to the apartment) between the wall and the frame block width of twenty to twenty-five millimeters.

3. Make sure that you have purchased the tools you need to install the front door in the house. The minimum set includes: a tape measure, a mounting level, a hammer, a puncher, a drill, a socket wrench # 17, a cross screwdriver.
4. Carefully check the operation of the locks before finalizing the door. They should work properly.
5. In the prepared and cleaned doorway we put in the door.
6. Between the door block and the opening, drive in the wedges of wood of the required width.
7. Check the position of the door box according to the level.
8. Open the doors and drill holes in the wall to fasten the door with anchor bolts with a diameter of fifteen millimeters.
9. Tighten the nut in the anchor bolt until you feel a slight emphasis.
10. After clogging the anchor bolt, twist it with a socket wrench.
11. The holes where the anchor bolts are are covered with plastic plugs.
12. Fill the installation foam with a gap between the wall and the door.
13. After the foam dries, gently trim it so that it does not go out of the door frame.
14. Remove the plastic protective film from the doors.

The door is installed! Although this is labor intensive, but saving money for the family in independent work is very tangible.
