For those who have already decided to make the repair of the room on their own, information about installing skirting boards will be very relevant. There is nothing complicated in this, and all the tools and fasteners are most often with any host in the house.

Installing the floor skirting yourself

In our case, we will consider the installation of plastic skirting with the so-called hidden fastening, as this option is easy to install and convenient to use.

1. We begin the installation of the baseboard with our own hands by preparing the fasteners and tools. In addition to the skirting board, it is necessary to calculate and purchase the butt-end corners and elements in advance, to buy plugs. From the tool you will need a drill that is usual for concrete, a stool with a hacksaw and a dowel.
2. You can start the installation of skirting with a convenient angle. The first part is set taking into account the corner element for the connection.
3. On any skirting board of this type there is an upper lining, which is removed before installation. The first step of installing skirting boards with your own hands is fixing the base. Exactly in the center of the groove we drill the holes on the skirting board in steps of approximately 30 cm, and leave marks on the wall.
4. Important point: when installing plastic skirting boards near the joints and corners it is necessary to make fastenings.
5. According to the markings, make holes in the wall with a special drill. When the markings on the wall are ready, we remove all dust immediately with a vacuum cleaner.
6. It is likely that you will have to cut off the excess part of the plinth. Do it right with a hacksaw and a chair. Cut the length should be clearly along the edge of the wall.
7. In the holes in the wall we insert plastic plugs.
8. Now fix the skirting boards themselves and close the attachments with an overlay.
9. For the corner part, first cut the second part exactly on the wall.

11. Similarly, we put on the connecting parts when joining two pieces of the plinth.
