Justin Timberlake and Will.I.Am - plagiarists?

Sweet-eyed handsome Justin and the leader of the incendiary group The Black Eyed Peas have been delighting listeners with their hits for more than ten years. One of them is the joint work of two talents - "Damn Girl", released in 2006 year. The song took its place in the charts, but not everyone agrees with the legality of this track, for which reason the musicians are summoned to court.

The essence of the conflict

The company PK Music Performance filed for the singers in court for copyright infringement. The plaintiffs consider that the song "Damn Girl" is very similar to the melody performed by JS Sea Davis "A New Day", which is almost fifty years old. At their request, Timberlake and Will.I.Am must stop performing the song and compensate for the fact that in both compositions very similar instrumental parts are used.

Successful cooperation

We remind you that Justin Timberlake and the band The Black Eyed Peas appeared in the show business in the late 90's and almost immediately became incredibly popular, their concerts always recruit full halls, the hits of these performers are familiar to everyone. The sensational song "Damn Girl" is not the only joint work of two stars, except for them they have several more loud hits.

It's curious why the music company decided on legal action only now, because the hit of the star duo is ten years old. If the court still recognizes the similarity of the songs, then Timberlake and William Adams will be obliged to pay compensation - part of the income from Damn Girl. We will follow the course of events and keep the fists for the favorite performers.
