Museum of Immigration

The Immigration Museum, in comparison with many other museums in Melbourne, is a new landmark, entirely dedicated to the history of all those immigrants who have come to this continent from around the world.

What to see?

Here you will learn about how Australia hosts guests from other countries and continents. It will be known from the exhibitions that many of whose descendants live in Australia fled here from hunger and horrific dictatorial regimes.

This museum helps to better understand Australia as a state. Adult entry costs $ 12, and children and students can get free. It is interesting that every visitor not only learns the history of the continent, but also can look at unusual exhibits. One of these can be safely attributed immigrant cabins, in which they traveled here from Europe, recreated in full size.

What you will also be impressed with is the huge booth that houses photographs of the multinational inhabitants of Australia. His main idea is to show that it does not matter who, what color, what language we speak, we are all people.

In addition, you can go through the electronic version of the survey of the test, which is usually passed during the acquisition of citizenship.

How to get there?

We take bus number 204, 215 or 2017 and get off at the stop of 400 Flinders St.
