The national park "Naravantpu" is a corner of the present pristine nature on the island of Tasmania with an area of ​​4.3 thousand hectares. The park is located between the beaches of Grins Beach, which is at the mouth of the Tamar River and the beach of Bakers Beach, near the town of Port Sorell. The authorities of the country are very respectful of the traditions and history of indigenous aborigines, therefore in 2000 it was decided to restore the historical traditional name "Paravetpu", until this time the park was known as "Asbestine Ridges".

What is interesting about the park?

The national park "Naravantpu" is one of the quietest places in Tasmania. Heather thickets, brooding marshes and green plains literally swarm with a species diversity of their inhabitants. Different landscapes and terrain attracts many birds to these places: herons, ducks, medosos, various sea birds, even in dry eucalyptus forests there are even black cockatoo and diamond-green Rosella.

The animal world is represented by forest kangaroos, wombats, wallabies and philanders. Some individuals of the fauna allow themselves to be quietly photographed, calmly approach a short distance and simply radiate friendliness, because in these places for any several decades any hunting has been prohibited. It should be noted that one of the largest populations of outlandish Tasmanian devil lives in the National Park "Naravantpu".

In the park, tourists are allowed to swim on the beaches of Bakers Beach and Badger Beach, sea-skiing and boating on the beach of Springlon Beach and even fishing. For those who wish, the park administration offers a horseback ride accompanied by an experienced ranger.

How to get to the National Park "Naravontapu"?

On the island of Tasmania from the mainland, you can fly local airlines, flights are carried out regularly from most major cities in Australia. There are airports in the cities of Hobart , Launceston and Devonport , and from there to the hotel or immediately to the park you will easily take a bus. Distances on the island are small, and regular flights.

From Melbourne to Devonport there is a ferry service. By the way, on the island you can also rent a bicycle, car or taxi and move independently. But we recommend taking places in group excursions, so it is more interesting and informative. And remember that feeding any animal in the park is prohibited!
