Pistachio shell crafts

Pistachios are a very tasty and useful treat. And from the shell of these nuts you can create amazing things. With this material it's easy to work, so children like to use it for their crafts. By crafts from pistachio shell, you can decorate the interior in an original way. It can be an artificial tree - topiary, decorative panels and even entire pictures of pistachio shells. Let's find out in more detail how such masterpieces are created.

Pistachio shell tree

  1. Prepare a small branchy stick from dry wood and pistachio shell.
  2. Roll a ball of brown plasticine of a ball of arbitrary size (the value of the crown of the future tree depends on it). Insert the first shell in it so that the sharper edge is on top.
  3. Insert the following shells into the clay, trying to keep them close to each other like a pine cone.
  4. Continue this work until the clay is completely hidden under the pistachios. The bottom of the plasticine ball is covered with eggshells, leaving only a small gap in order to stick a branch.
  5. Make three bumps of different size and plant them on a twig.
  6. And the final touch is the preparation of a tub for our tree. Roll a neat cylinder out of plasticine of any color. Tightly glue it on all sides with even sticks. It is desirable that they were from the same tree as the trunk of the topiary. Stick the tree into the tub and check that it is stable. Plasticine at the base of the tree is best hidden under the greenery or decorated with the same peel of pistachios, of which the work itself consists. Tie the tub with a twine or a beautiful ribbon in a tone.

Crafts from pistachios - paintings

Like other natural materials, from the shell of pistachios you can make crafts. They can be volumetric, flat, or combine volume in a plane. The latter look best in the form of paintings. We suggest you make a picture of "Chrysanthemums from pistachios". In the work we will use the glue "Moment gel" (it can be replaced by its adhesive thermo-gun).

  1. Glue the three shells together, gluing them with glue at the base.
  2. Attach to them four more, forming a flower.
  3. Gradually sticking the pistachio shell in a circle, glue a large flower of an arbitrary size.
  4. Prepare just enough chrysanthemum to fit in the picture frame.
  5. Now you should paint each flower. It is best to use food colors for this. Let some flowers be yellow, others - green, others - blue, etc. Choose the shades that you would like and at the same time combine well with each other.
  6. Glue dry grass or artificial material (for example, sisal) to the base of the picture, and beautifully lay chrysanthemums on it, fixing them securely with glue.

Crafts from pistachios are suitable for children's creativity, starting from 7-8 years. Juvenile babies can be offered simply to glue the shells on a cardboard-base, forming various figures, and color them with gouache. You can also combine work with pistachios and plasticine and natural material.
