The weather in New Zealand is changeable, there is never a special heat, the water in the ocean is cool, so you can not swim particularly. Therefore a place called Snow Planet or SnowPlanet enjoys great popularity, both among tourists and local people.
Infrastructure of the park
The location is close to Auckland and is ideal for snowboarding or alpine skiing. Infrastructure is thought through to the smallest detail, though a large parking lot is not guarded.
Get here easily, using a rented car or taxi services. From the first motovve it is necessary to turn to Silverdale. Then the road will go along the bridge, to the right to Small Rd and to the end, until the park appears.
Inside the room, the same temperatures are maintained all year round -5 ° Celsius. Most services are paid, including a comfortable, well-equipped locker room. The price, however, is symbolic - 1 New Zealand dollar. In the park there is a bar where you can have something to eat or drink hot tea / coffee, immediately in the shop you can buy equipment for snowboarding or take a similar rental.
All services work clearly and smoothly. The staff is invariably friendly and always ready to help.
Park Trails
The whole park is divided into two zones - for beginners in snowboarding and downhill skiing and for professionals. The route for beginners is:
- only 40 meters long and 21 meters wide;
- total area - 1200 m 2 ;
- lift for beginners, reminiscent of an escalator;
- the thickness of the snow is half a meter.
The route for professionals is much longer and occupies a large area:
- 202 meters in length, the width of the standard - 21 meters;
- 2 rope tows;
- a great springboard;
- rails for freestyle;
- the total area for professional occupations is 8300 m 2 .
Instructors work on both routes. The service is chargeable, but the price of the question is small and accessible to all comers.
Price policy
The range of prices for visiting the park is great. Unequivocally, we can say that the more time will be spent on the slopes, the cheaper the cost of an hour. For adults, the price is higher than for teenagers. Also on weekends, snowboarding and skiing will be more expensive than on a weekday.
It does not take into account the time spent in the bar, locker room, store. At the entrance each visitor gets a special coin. It is recorded data - age, name, payment. It must be applied at the entrance and exit to the slope.
Every Friday, from 9 pm and 00 pm, there is a snow party with interesting prizes.
