Among the many attractions of Auckland, One Tree Hill can not be called a popular tourist destination. It is located away from busy highways. Traveling on a rented car you need to know where to turn to get to the designated point. Nevertheless, One Tree Hill is recommended for visiting.
Where did the name come from?
The name of this attraction is more than prosaic. The place is an elevation, once a volcano. The height is only 182 meters. Once there grew a lonely tree. Then it was cut down, and after a while two young men were put, and then another obelisk was put. On the hill, D.L. Campbell.

What to do here?
Around the hill there is a very attractive park with an area of 220 hectares. On its territory is a planetarium and an observatory. Therefore, in between the walks you can look here and look at the sky of the Southern Hemisphere. Here is the cottage "Acacia" - the oldest building on the island, built by John Campbell.
If you climb to the obelisk, you can see Oakland as in the palm of your hand. A beautiful panorama opens onto both harbors. At the foot of the hill, in the crater of the old volcano, lies a lot of stones of all sizes. Fans of experimenting can make up a word or an entire sentence, then go upstairs and see what they have done.
On the territory of the park there is a farm. Some animals graze behind the fence, and some freely walk around the park. Running on the grass chickens and turkeys.
