Seraphim of Sarov was born under the name Prokhor, in a merchant family in Kursk. When he was just a boy, his father began the construction of the Kursk Cathedral, but died before he could finish the work. Prokhor's mother took up the construction, a very religious woman, and here, with the boy, the first miracle happened. Having fallen from the bell tower when visiting construction with his mother, he found himself on the ground, safe and sound.
Already after this incident, the boy devoted most of his time to Holy Reading, and at the age of 17 decided to serve God. Mother approved the choice of her son and blessed on the way to the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. From there, Prokhor was sent to the Sarov desert, where he spent many years, and, subsequently, received the name - Seraphim of Sarov.
Then there were years of reclusive prayers in the desert cell, and then, 25 years later, the saints appeared to him, ordering him to leave the shutter and receive people - sick and infirm.
Thus began to happen miracles according to the prayers of Seraphim of Sarov - healing from the deadly ailments.
Miracles of Seraphim of Sarov
Whoever did not come to Seraphim, he healed everyone with the miraculous water of his source. A woman came to him one day, so exhausted from the disease that she could not even eat the food allowed by fasting. Seraphim ordered her to wash in the waters of his spring, and the illness passed.
There is also a well-known story about the healing of a woman with dropsy. She walked to his monastery for two days, during a stop at the monastery, she was already instructed to die. But when he arrived at Seraphim, he accepted her first, wiped herself with a towel, which she brought with her as a gift, and ordered her to come tomorrow. The next day he gave her a vessel to draw water from the spring and wash. Arriving at the hotel, the woman, despite the contraindications of doctors, washed this water and was completely healed.
Of course, Saint Seraphim of Sarov healed not only by water, but also by prayer. Saints do not heal themselves, but they pray with their sinless souls for the sick and God understands their requests.
Subsequently, the miracle-working prayer of Seraphim of Sarov appeared, which saves hundreds and thousands of people after his death. After all, the saint is still praying for us before God.
After his death, the miraculous spring still heals. Once the mother of her son sent there, who for many years suffered from drug addiction. His mother asked him to go there with his wife and be married in Diveevsky Monastery. So they did, but the disease did not recede.
Three years later, a man still hopelessly dependent on drugs, alcohol and tobacco, went to the monastery of his own free will. He thrice dipped into the sacred spring, and in a moment he felt the whole blackness depart from the heart. At that moment he recovered and became an exemplary family man.
Prayer for Marriage
Seraphim of Sarov is also addressed in prayers for marriage. He is considered the patron of late marriages, so if you are 30, 40 or more, Seraphim of Sarov will help find a worthy husband.
In order for the prayer to Seraphim of Sarov to work, it should be read on water. Take 1 liter of water (preferably live, spring), light a candle on the table, put the icon of Saint Seraphim in front of you and read the text of the prayer. Water should be consumed inside, sprinkle it with a room and a bed.
In addition, the mother's prayer for the marriage of her daughter to Seraphim of Sarov works most strongly. For God, there is nothing louder and more sincere than words saturated with fervent love for their child.
Prayer "All-Merciful"
In 1928 a miracle happened to one old man. In a dream, Serafim of Sarov appeared to him and dictated the all-merciful prayer - the prayer to the Theotokos. The elder was threatened with arrest (in those years, the church was actively oppressed), and the Holy told him to write a prayer and go with her on the lips. It will help to survive both to him and the church.
The next day there was an arrest and many years of camps, all 18 years of which the Elder constantly prayed to the Theotokos.
