Yesterday in the press there was very interesting information from the royal family of Monaco. Prince Albert II bought a house in which his mother ex-actress Grace Kelly lived as a child. The mansion is in Philadelphia, and cost the monarchs $ 754,000.
Alber does not yet know what to do with the purchase
As the prince admitted to the press, this purchase is very symbolic for him. The house contains a piece of history of his kind, memories from his childhood, and he is glad that he will be able to save him from demolition or loss of his present appearance. Albert spoke about what he wanted to do in this mansion:
"The house is very old, so first you need to repair it. And then I do not know yet, but just so he will not stand ... Perhaps we will make a museum out of it, which will be dedicated to my mother, or maybe it will house the headquarters of the Grace Kelly Foundation. It's hard to say now. But I know for sure that my children will be there for sure. I think that we will come there next year, as soon as the restoration works are completed. Then his opening will take place, if the house becomes a museum ".
The house was for sale not for long
The mansion, where the future Princess Grace grew, was put up for sale in June this year, but almost immediately Prince Albert became interested in them. First, the sellers wanted to help him out with $ 1 million, but after all they decided to lower the price. The last sentence on their part was $ 750,000, and the prince immediately agreed. Interestingly, Alber was so pleased with the purchase that he decided to pay a little more and gave the sellers $ 754,000.
The house in which Kelly lived was built by her father in the 1920s and 1930s. It is located at 3901 Henry Avenue in Philadelphia. The area of the property is 370 sq.m. The house has 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms and a garden. In it, as sellers say, the marks of how the future actress and Princess of Monaco grew up remained. In addition, it was in this mansion Rainier III, the future husband of Grace, made her an offer.
