For the Slavs, the Sun always had a special significance. They noticed the dependence of the phase of the heavenly body on the change of the season, so for each season there was a certain God responsible, in general, there were four. Each of them had its own characteristics, which differed from each other. People worshiped every God of the sun and revered their commandments.

The sun god of the Slavs - Horse

Horse is a middle-aged man who always has a blush from the cold on his face. He is dressed in a shirt, trousers and a cloak of azure color. This God is always sad, because he lacks the strength to save the earth on cold nights. Hors has the strength to calm the blizzard and storm, and also change the temperature a little. Slavs also often associated this God with animals. Holidays dedicated to this God of the sun by the Eastern Slavs always meant bathing in an ice hole and dances. He answered for the period, beginning with the spring solstice and before the summer solstice. Represented this God in the guise of a young guy with beautiful golden hair and blue eyes. He had a bright red cloak behind him. Jarilo moved on a fiery horse. In myths, there are indications that this God appeared with fiery arrows to drive away the cold. Jarilo differed from other Gods in his purity and sincerity. Slavs also called him the God of youth and carnal pleasure. The symbol is an equilateral five-pointed star or rune Ud.

The sun god of the ancient Slavs - Dazhdbog

He entered power, beginning with the summer and until the autumn solstice. Slavs believed that Dazhdbog in the sky moves in a chariot, which is harnessed by four white horses with fire manes and golden wings. Sunlight radiates the shield that God holds in his hands. He distinguished himself by his greatness and direct look. The hair of his golden color develops in the wind. This pagan God was mainly depicted by the Slavs in gold armor with a spear and shield. The idol of Dazhdbog was in practically all ancient Russian cities. This God has his own rune, which is responsible for well-being in all life directions. Another rune means success in any business started. The Dazhbog symbol is a solar square. People addressed him in the morning, when the sun just appeared above the horizon.

Honored him, from the autumn solstice to the winter solstice. Svarog - God of fire and sky. He is the parent of many gods-sons. He taught Svarog people to use fire, to process metal, to make cheese and cheese. He also gave them a plow, which enabled the Slavs to cultivate the land. Svarog is considered an old sun, which is cold and dark. The temple of this God is any smithy or bugle. Near the idol, there must certainly be fire and metal.

Many believe that Ra is an ancient Egyptian God, but in fact it became such only in the 28th century BC. Initially, he was a Slavic God who was born from the Creator of the Universe. According to the existing legends Ra ruled the chariot, on which the sun was. His sons are considered to be Veles and Khors, who, after the death of Ra, took his place. The myths say that in old age Ra became a river, which in the modern world is called the Volga.
