Transport of Monaco

Perhaps the first thing that interests every tourist is public transport in the visited country. If you decide to go to Monaco , consider that you are lucky - the transport network here is very well developed. In addition, due to the small size of the principality, it is not difficult to get from point A to point B.

Public transport

In Monaco, there are five bus routes that run at intervals of 10 minutes from 7.00 to 21.00. All routes converge in one place, on one of the main attractions of Monaco - Place d'Armes.

The fare in the city bus is one and a half euros, the ticket, intended for eight trips, will cost 5.45 euros. Travel for the whole day with an unlimited number of trips costs 3.4 euros.

Tourists are pleasantly surprised by another, somewhat unusual, mode of transport presented in Monaco. It is a locomotive, consisting of a dozen trailers, on which it is possible to tour the entire principality in thirty minutes. It's called simply a train. A pleasant bonus for passengers is that during the journey you will hear explanations from the loudspeaker in several languages. The locomotive travels along the route every day, except for the cold months (approximately from November 15 to January 31). However, during the five New Year's days, the train runs in all weathers. Travel in the train costs 6 euros.

Another unusual for us type of public transport in Monaco - it's specially equipped escalators, which in the principality are seven. They raise tourists and all comers to the streets above.

Taxi service

If you need to use the services of a taxi, you can find such cars in the parking lot near the station Sonako-Monte Carlo, on Plaza Casino near the casino itself, Princess Grace Avenue , Fontvieille , near one of the best hotels in Monaco Metropol, and directly at the post office of Monte Carlo . The fare is € 1.2 per kilometer, however after ten o'clock in the evening the cost increases by 25%.

It should not be forgotten that the miniature dimensions of the principality of Monaco and the local atmosphere are extremely suitable for walking. The average tourist is unlikely to need a taxi or car rental . The longest path imaginable in Monaco is a half-hour walk from the Prince's Palace to the casino in Monte Carlo.
