For all its unpretentiousness, it treacherously discards the leaves at the slightest change: whether it is a draft or a sharp temperature drop, a change in watering. This time we will touch upon the question of what to do if your favorite ficus is blackened or brown leaves.
For what reason do the leaves blacken or fall off?
The reasons why a healthy ficus suddenly turn black or darken leaves, not so much. Almost certainly they are associated with a wrong or abrupt change in the care regimen:
- If you notice that the ficus is suddenly blackened and the leaves fall off sharply, the soil has become the wetland. Of course, this plant is a resident of tropical countries, but also does not like strong watering. Permanent irrigation is desirable partly replaced by spraying.
- Sometimes the ficus blackens gradually, starting from the edges. This option is most likely the result of a sunburn. Sometimes this happens when the plant is corny hot in your room. Both scenarios assume a complete revision and removal of the damaged parts of the root system, a transplant into the correct soil in the future.
Prevention of various diseases and pests will not be superfluous.
