How to prevent rabies infection?

What is an antirabic immunoglobulin?

There are rabies immunoglobulin from human blood serum and from horse blood serum. Both are a concentrated solution of the gamma-globulated serum fraction, which is isolated from human or equine blood by the method of cold extraction with ethanol. After this, the resulting composition is subjected to an ultrafiltration procedure, then purified and inactivated. The final stage of treatment finally cleanses the serum from the rabies virus.

Immunoglobulin anti-rabies is always prescribed in combination with an anti-rabies vaccine to prevent further development of rabies (hydrophobia).

Before you enter the required dose of the vaccine, be sure to conduct an intradermal test. If the sample is negative, that is, there is no redness, after half an hour, gradually inject the entire dose into three doses at an interval of 10-15 minutes, pre-heating preparation up to 37 ° С. For each portion, the syringe is drawn from a new ampoule.

Injection administration may cause an allergic reaction to rabies immunoglobulin, therefore, in order to avoid complications, you should always keep ready solutions:
