Avocado oil for hair

Botanical name: Persea gratissima gaertueri, Persea americana.

The native land of avocados are Central America and Mexico. Because of the shape of the fruit in some countries it is called butter pear (butter pear) or alligator pear (alligator pear).

The oil is obtained by cold pressing the pulp from the dried fruit of avocado. Initially, the oil has a greenish tint, but after refining it acquires a light yellow color.

Refined oil, which tastes like nutty, is used in cooking, and unrefined oil - in cosmetology.

Avocado belongs to the category of base oils (base oils, carriers, transport). Transport oils - non-volatile fatty substances obtained by cold pressing, which can be used as a basis for the preparation of cosmetics and the dissolution of aromatics (essential oils).

Composition

Avocado oil contains oleic, palmitic, linoleic, linolenic, palmitoleic and stearic acids, a large amount of chlorophyll that gives it a characteristic greenish tinge, lecithin, vitamins A, B, D, E, K, squalene, salts of phosphoric acid, folic acid, Potassium, magnesium and other microelements.

Beneficial features

Avocado oil is widely used for the care of all skin types, the treatment of minor injuries, skin inflammations and eczema, to lower the level of cholesterol in the blood. But it is especially widely used and effective means in the care of hair and scalp. Thanks to the rich content of vitamins and trace elements, it nourishes the scalp, improves the structure and stimulates hair growth, helps reduce their fragility. Avocado oil is effective for giving colored hair a natural sheen.

In cosmetics, avocado oil is recommended to be used in concentrations of up to 10%, and up to 25% - with excessively dry and damaged skin. In its pure form is applied in the form of applications on the skin, affected by a rash or eczema.

Application

  1. To enrich industrial products: 10 ml of oil per 100 ml of shampoo or conditioner for hair.
  2. Mask for dry and damaged hair: 2 tablespoons of avocado oil, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1 egg yolk, 5 drops of rosemary essential oil. The mask should be applied to the scalp for 30 minutes, before washing, once a week.
  3. For dull hair, it is recommended to rub a clean avocado oil into the scalp or in a mixture with olive oil (1: 1). Apply the heated oil to the scalp with massaging movements, then wrap it with pre-moistened in warm water and wrung out the towel and leave for 20 minutes, then wash the head.
  4. Mask for damaged hair: 1 tablespoon of avocado oil, 1 tablespoon burdock oil, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Apply on the head, cover with a plastic cap, and on top with a warm towel for 40-60 minutes, then wash off. A greater effect is achieved if the head is then washed with egg yolk.
  5. Mask for fragile and weakened hair: add 1 drop of black pepper ether, 1 drop of essential oils of rosemary, ylang-ylang and basil to 1 tablespoon of avocado oil (heated to 36 degrees). Apply on hair 30 minutes before washing.
  6. Nourishing hair mask: for 2 tablespoons of avocado oil, add ½ teaspoon of oil solutions of vitamins A and E, and 2 drops of essential oils grapefruit, bay and ylang-ylang. After applying the mask, the head should be toweled. Wash off after 30 minutes.
  7. Mask for straightening hair: 1 tablespoon of colorless henna, 1 tablespoon of avocado oil, 5 drops of essential oil of orange. Henna should be poured in warm water (200-250 ml) for about 40 minutes, then add the remaining ingredients and apply to the hair. Apply 2-3 times a week.
  8. Hair conditioner: 1 tablespoon avocado oil, half a glass of beer. Mix and apply on hair for 5 minutes, rinse with warm water.
