Badan officinalis (thick-bodied) is a perennial herb with a thick rhizome and large leathery leaves, at the roots harvested in a rosette. Medicinal properties of badan

In the roots of badana contains up to 27% of tannins, polyphenols, glucose and fructose, dextrin, glycoside, and in the leaves - hydroquinone, carotene, gallic acid, ascorbic acid, phytocyanides. In addition, a lot of arbutin (tannin) is in the leaves (especially old ones).

Badan is used in the treatment of gynecological diseases (fibromas, bleeding , cervical erosion), with the disruption of the gastrointestinal tract, with fevers, pneumonia, kidney disease and articular rheumatism. In folk medicine, the medicinal properties of badan are especially widely used to combat diarrhea, colitis, nausea and bloating and with problems with the oral cavity - toothache, stomatitis, periodontal disease.

Tea made from badan

In the people, bahdans are often called gazellos or Mongolian tea. Indeed, the leaves of this plant are often brewed and drunk like tea. Thanks to the numerous beneficial properties of badan, this tea not only perfectly quenches thirst, but also has a general strengthening effect, contributes to the normalization of blood pressure, strengthens the walls of blood vessels and stimulates the work of the heart. Badan tea has a dark brown color and slightly astringent taste. For its preparation use old (overwintered) leaves in dried form.

Breadcrumbs can be brewed like ordinary black tea, but it takes longer to insist, as the leaves of the badan are thicker than the tea leaves. To drink such tea is best in the morning. This will give strength and help cheer up.

Contraindications to the use of balan
