Probably, the recipe for the preparation of banana cupcakes was formed by the end of the 18th century and became more widespread by the end of the 19th century - by that time favorable conditions for rapid transportation of perishable products had been created in North America. It can be confidently asserted that the recipe appeared exactly no later than 1933 (it was this year that the first publication of the banana bread recipe in one of the North American cookbooks was recorded). Later, various variations of the recipe appeared and even ready powdered mixtures for baking this popular dessert began to be sold.

How to cook banana bread in American style? To make a banana cake, you need mature bananas, wheat flour (preferably whole wheat from solid wheat varieties), natural butter, milk, chicken eggs, sugar (preferably brown reed) and baking powder. You can also use oatmeal or ground oat flakes. With lactose intolerance, milk can be replaced with soy milk or soft tofu. You can also add in the dough candied fruits, ground nuts, dried fruits and some spices (cinnamon, vanillin, saffron). Bananas are best used for ripe, with a darkened skin.

You can knead mass with your hands, but you can use a mixer or blender. We will add in the dough the ground nuts (we shall leave for a covering a small amount). Nuts should not be ground too finely - the heterogeneous texture of the dough in this case is more preferable.

How to bake banana bread? Most often, rectangular shapes are used for this, however this is not fundamental, any forms for cupcakes or mini-cakes are suitable. The form must be oiled. You can, of course, spread a form of oiled baking paper. Now pour the dough into the mold and evenly sprinkle with the remains of ground nuts. The oven must be preheated to a temperature of 160-180 ° C. Bake a banana cake for about 60 minutes. Willingness is controlled visually, browning, a characteristic appetizing smell, or you can use a wooden stick, piercing with a dry toothpick or a match in the middle - the match must remain dry.
