In the north, Krasnaya Polyana is protected from the winds by a ridge, and from the south the path to warm air flows covers the Ah-Tsu gorge. Thanks to this location, this mountain resort of the Caucasus has its own unique microclimate, very comfortable for skiing.
On the northern slopes are provided excellent conditions for skiing until late spring. Here they go for cross-country skiing, snowmobiles, sledges, snowboards. The height of the resort is not very big - only 600 meters. But it is here that the most convenient and safe conditions for children. For them there is a ski kindergarten and a separate ski area, served by a drag lift.
Winter resort of the Caucasus "Dombai"
This resort is the most prestigious and famous in Russia. It is located in Karachay-Cherkessia region of the Stavropol Territory. At the foot of the Caucasian ridge is the Dombai glade, which is part of the Teberda Reserve, which occupies 85 hectares.
The season for skiing here continues from November to May. Ski resorts are located on such peaks as Djalovchat, Belalakai, Ine and the highest one - Dombai-Ulgen (4040 m). For the convenience of skiing there is a network of mountain lifts, as well as a cable car with a total length of 178 meters. And the total length of all routes is about 14 kilometers. There are both steep and complex routes, and slopes for beginners.
Ski resort of the Caucasus "Elbrus"
In the depths of the Baksan Valley, the popular and popular ski resort "Prielbrusye" is comfortably located. In the heart of the Caucasus you will plunge into a magical winter fairy tale. There are as many as 35 kilometers of trails and 12 kilometers of cable cars. The main slopes are Mount Cheget and Mount Elbrus. On some routes, skating continues throughout the year.
