Basket for linen own hands

Very often we in the bathroom or on the balcony do not have a wicker basket, but they are not cheap. There is a way out: using newspaper weaving (that is, newspaper tubes) to make such a laundry basket for yourself.

Master class on creating a laundry basket for yourself

Would need:

Tell you how to make a laundry basket in stages:

Twisting of newspaper tubes:

  1. Take the newspaper sheet and mark it 7cm as shown in the photo.
  2. We cut along the lines into strips.
  3. We take a thin needle, put it on the lower corner of the strip, at an angle of about 30 degrees. We begin to wind the corner of the newspaper with a knitting needle.
  4. Twisting, we watch that the tube was tight, and one end is thinner than the other.
  5. At the end, we drip glue on the corner of the strip.
  6. We pull out the needle and the tube is ready. To carry out the laundry basket we need a lot of newspaper tubes.

Connection of tubes:

Since we need very long tubes for weaving, we will connect them with each other as follows:

  1. We take two tubes. At the wide end of one of them we drip glue and insert the narrow end of the second tube. We get a long tube.

Weaving of the bottom:

  1. We take 10 tubes and a ruler. Five tubes lay out in front of you and press a little to the right of the middle ruler.
  2. We lift up the first, third and fifth tubes, and for the remaining lie drop by drop of glue.
  3. On drops of glue we put the sixth tube, we press and lower the raised tubules.
  4. Now we lift the second and fourth tubes, we drip glue on lying tubes and, similarly to the sixth, we glue the seventh.
  5. With the remaining tubes we also receive an interlacing of ten glued between the tubes.
  6. We take one of the corner ends of the tubes, rotate by 90 degrees and weave it with five tubes as shown in the photo.
  7. We continue to weave in a circle. During the weaving, the tubes are moved apart, so that the bottom is round.
  8. When we add to the desired size of the bottom, lift up the tube-axis and insert inside the shape, which we will weave up.
  9. If the shape of the basket requires a strong expansion, then when weaving the bottom it is necessary to add the core tubes, so that there is not a large distance between them.

Weaving of the main part:

  1. On the bottom we put the shape and fix the tube-axis uniformly strictly top.
  2. We weave the sides in shape, moving in a circle that is under, then over the tube-axes. When the main tube ends, in a known way we attach the following to it.
  3. When we add to the desired height, we begin to decorate the trim edge of the laundry basket made by our own hands.

Edge decoration:

  1. We take any end of the tube and, passing the next one, we bend inward. In the formed loop we insert a piece of a tube.
  2. Circle bend all the ends of the tubes.
  3. Having reached the first bent pipe, pull out the piece that we inserted into the first loop and put the last bent pipe there.
  4. Now at us all ends are bent inwards, we fill them for braided numbers with the help of a spoke. We cut off too long ends.
  5. The resulting basket is coated all over for strength with VPA glue. When the glue dries, you can paint with paint or stain, or you can immediately varnish.
  6. After complete drying, you can use it for the intended purpose.

Using such a newspaper netting, one can make not only a laundry basket, but also decorative plates, flowerpots, vases , baskets and other interior items that, when opened by stain, will be very strong and similar to those made from vines.
