Cowboy boots

Western lovers remember what a real cowboy looks like. A hat with wide margins , a holster, and, of course, cowboy boots. This footwear was once the main attribute of men of the Wild West, and today they have become a part of modern fashion, including women's. Of course, women's cowboy boots are not an exact copy of their counterparts, but they retained the main features.

Boots in the cowboy style have the following characteristic features:

The only difference between modern women's models and real cowboy boots is in decor. They can be decorated with elegant appliqués and embroideries, and also have bright, rich colors.

History of things: cowboy boots from the USA

Presumably cowboy boots appeared at the end of the Civil War. Army boots were more suitable for use in cavalry, but were uncomfortable for riding a horse. Over time, shoemakers began to make their own changes to the shoes, making the sock more narrow, so that it would fit into the stirrup more easily. This was the first main feature of classic cowboy boots.

Some believe that all the attributes of boots are chosen arbitrarily and serve only to create a unique brutal image, but this is not so. To make it comfortable to ride, the cowboys thought it through to the smallest detail:

  1. Thick leather leatherette. Created to protect the rider's foot from rubbing while riding and for protection during walking (branches, thorns, rattlesnakes). The top should be loose enough that when you fall from a horse, your leg slips out of your shoes.
  2. Smooth outsole of leather. Allows quick insertion and removal of the foot from the stirrup.
  3. Narrowed sock. Also allows you to quickly insert a foot into the stirrup. There was a time when the cape was too sharp, and as a result, the boots became uncomfortable, not only when riding a horse, but also when walking. They increased the chance that the rider's foot would get stuck in the stirrup.
  4. Spurs. Many cowboy boots were with spurs, which were intended to control the horse during a quick run. Spurs were attached to the back of the boot with a metal arch.

Originally cowboys ordered boots individually, choosing the material and decoration for decoration. Today, cowboy boots of any style can be bought by every person, as they became available and popular.

Many people, not knowing what cowboy boots are called, call them "Cossacks". In fact, cowboy boots Cossacks do not exist as such, since the "Cossacks" - this is a separate model of low boots with a sharp cape and beveled heel. They do not have a high bootleg, so you can not call them "boots".

Women's boots in cowboy style

Like all shoes, Western-style boots are divided into several basic models. Here you can distinguish:

  1. Winter cowboy boots. They have an inner lining of fleece, fur or plush. The top is trimmed with coarse natural leather and keeps the shape well. Such boots are decorated with original decor and inserts of composite materials.
  2. Spring boots in cowboy style. Performed from a more delicate and delicate skin, the lining is thin or completely absent. Can be decorated with decorative buckles, rivets and embroideries. Perfectly combined with jackets and double-breasted coats.
  3. Summer cowboy boots. These models can only remotely resemble classic boots, since they are made of material that allows the foot to "breathe" (cloth, perforated skin). More suitable for evening walks, as in the daytime it is very stuffy in them. Boots can have a traditional beveled heel or flat sole. The bottom is lower.
