Cowl of the cook yourself

A hood for a cook can be an interesting detail of a carnival costume, used for the purpose - in the kitchen or as part of a children's game. In fact, it does not matter how to use the chef's hood, it's just a very interesting thing that can serve both children and adults, turning the cooking process into a game. Let's find out how to sew a hood for the cook, because, as you know, doing something with your own hands is always much more exciting than buying in a store.

Cowl for the chef with his own hands

Before going directly to the description of the process of sewing the hood, let's determine what materials during this process will be needed:

So, having decided on the materials, now we sew the chef's cap.

  1. Pattern hood for the cook - it's very simple, so that even those who are just starting to master cutting and sewing will cope with this. In addition, the pattern of the cook's cap for the child does not differ much from the pattern for the adult, except for the sizes. So, first you need to cut a rectangle that is fifteen centimeters high and fifty-four in length (the circumference of the head and plus two centimeters for the seams). Fold the rectangle in half and seal one half with flizeline. Then cut out a circle with a circumference of about fifty centimeters. It is also compacted with phaseline.
  2. The next step is to place the rectangle in the ring, not forgetting to sew it into the elastic band in order to be able to adjust the size. The circular part along the edges can be cut using zigzag scissors so that the edges do not fall off. Then stitch the edges of the circle with the largest stitch so that you can then pull the part.
  3. Then, draw the circle to the size you want. And sew it to the ring-base.
  4. And the last step you can sew to the cap application. This does not necessarily have to be done, but, for example, if you sew this cap for a child, then adding a bit of brightness will not be superfluous. Although here everything is up to you.

How to starch the cook's cap?

If you really want your cap to look absolutely perfect, then it must be starched. In this process there is absolutely nothing complicated. It is necessary to dilute 1 tablespoon of starch in 1 glass of water. Separately boil another 2 cups of water, cool and pour in it starch suspension. Stir well and in this solution rinse the cap. After you remove the cap from the starch solution, it must be pulled onto a jar or cardboard cone of suitable shape to make it look perfect. And you can just iron out a slightly damp hood.
