How to make a standard arch with your own hands?
In our case, the design will be classic. We begin the installation work.
- On the upper perimeter of the doorway on both sides is attached a narrow metal profile for gypsum board. Using self-tapping screws, a gypsum board is planted on it.
- Next, you need to draw an arc, along which the arch will be cut out. This is easy to do due to the screwed profile at the base of the circle. Cut the canvas along the marking lines.
- On the inside of the arch, it is necessary to attach 2 curved profiles, on which additional stiffeners will be fixed. To bend the metal base, it is necessary to make incisions along its entire length.
- The bridge (the top of the arch) is sewed with plasterboard. Bend the sheet by pre-perforating it and evenly moistening it. In this case, we use a different method: cuts are made on the sheet with the same pitch perpendicular to the length of the web.
- Attach the element to the frame with screws. Make holes for wiring and lighting.
The arch itself is ready, now it needs to be plastered, primed and painted if desired.
Mounting the door arch of an unusual shape with your own hands
The design does not have to be a standard shape. The principle of installation remains the same as for the classical arch.
- The profile is fixed along the perimeter of the arch, then the plasterboard is hung.
- Along the main profiles there are auxiliary ones. Over the frame is a gypsum plasterboard sheet.
- Puncture the surface, primethete and color.
The arch in the doorway , made by own hands, can have both the simplest form, and multi-level, without additional decor or with it.
