Dvorakova Gardens

The Dvorak gardens are a small park located in Karlovy Vary . This is a place where people like to walk around like the citizens themselves, and tourists who want to get acquainted with local beauties.

Some historical information

The Dvorak gardens are named after the world-famous Czech composer Antonin Dvorak. He himself often visited this city (at least 8 times). Dvorak came here to meet with colleagues or to devote time to writing new compositions. Therefore, he often strolled along the Karlovy Vary, including his center.

At the end of the XIX century, Jan Gaman, a city gardener, decided that the Vintra park behind the military sanatorium should be refined. In his place, he broke a new garden.

This place quickly gained popularity among the population of the city. Already in 1881 the Blenen Pavilion was built here - it housed a restaurant, and concerts were held. In 1966, the pavilion was, alas, demolished due to poor condition.

In 1974, the Dvorak gardens were renovated, and it was at this time that they got their name. There was also a monument that perpetuated the famous composer.

What's interesting in the park?

Dvorakova Gardens - the park is quite small, but very cozy and pleasant. You can come here to drink a morning coffee before walking around the city and sightseeing , or vice versa, relax after a long day. What is remarkable, in the park you can walk on the lawns.

Also in the gardens grow two plane trees, the age of which is more than 200 years. They are called Garden and Plane Dvorak. In the middle of the park is a small lake with a mermaid sculpture in the center.

The local population very often rests in the Dvorak Gardens. Young people play badminton, families and friends have picnics on weekends, and city artists sell their works.

How to get to the park?

To get to Dvorakova Gardens, you need to take the buses of routes Nos. 1 or 4 and get off at the final stop - Lazne III. You just need to cross the bridge to be in the park.
