Endometrial polyposis

Polyposis of the endometrium is a gynecological problem, which is characterized, first of all, by the appearance of a multitude of benign formations in the uterine cavity. They are formed because of the growth of the basal layer of the endometrium.

Because of what develops polyposis of the endometrium?

The causes of the development of polyposis of the endometrium are quite numerous. Most often it is:

How is endometrial polyposis manifested?

In most cases, there are no signs of the presence of the disease in the body. That is why the disease is detected with preventive gynecological examination.

With an increase in the number of neoplasms and their size, the first symptoms of polyposis appear. First of all, it is:

  1. Violation of the menstrual cycle in various manifestations. Most often, these are small in size, smearing excreta, not associated with menstruation. In young girls, pathology can manifest itself in the form of profuse, painful periods.
  2. Pain in the lower abdomen, mostly cramping. In this case, there is a feature: when the sexual act is sharply increased pain. In some cases, a slight bleeding is possible, which is observed almost immediately after sex.
  3. If there are large neoplasms in the uterus, the appearance of leucorrhoea may appear, - discharge from the vagina.

How is the disease treated?

Today, the main method of treating endometrial polyposis is surgical intervention. Thus, during hysteroscopy, the inner lining of the uterus is scraped. In cases where the size of the polyp does not exceed 3 cm, it is removed by the "twisting" method, i. E. turning the polyp, remove it. For the prevention of recurrent polyposis of the endometrium, the removal sites are cauterized with an electrocoagulator, and liquid nitrogen is less commonly used.

As for the treatment of endometrial polyposis with folk remedies, this does not bring the desired result, but for the time spent on it, the neoplasm can only increase in size and aggravate the situation.
