Facade tiles

Today, various materials are used for external work on the facing of buildings. Initially, only natural stone was used, and only wealthy people could afford to decorate a house with granite, marble, porphyry or another type of stone . Over time, when the porcelain was invented, the building "fashion" for him held very long. This was due to its high performance at a relatively low cost. However, with the invention of facade tiles, all the accents shifted, as it became a universal facing material.

Facade tiles can take many forms. It can be made of natural stone or brick, be a skillful imitation of these materials, and also have a variety of colors and textures. At the same time, the cost of tiles is an order of magnitude lower than the material that it imitates.

Another advantage of facade tiles is its practicality. It reliably protects the building from all environmental influences: moisture, ultraviolet, temperature changes, various deformations and damages. And modern technologies allow even to combine warming of the house with its facing, if you use panels (thermopanels) instead of facade tiles.

Types of facade tiles

  1. The facade tile made of natural stone looks very presentable and solid, but at the same time it is quite expensive. In addition, the stone has a lot of weight, which leads to additional difficulties in the installation. When repairing such a tile it is very difficult to find an identical tile in color, because the pattern of natural stone is unique.
  2. At the heart of the facade tile, made of porcelain , are artificial materials (clay, spar, quartz). This facade tile is made "under the stone" and looks identical to the natural stone, and sometimes even surpasses its properties. It is durable, durable and resistant to moisture and temperature influences.
  3. The cheapest for today façade tiles is concrete . Thanks to modern technology, it can also imitate any materials, from marble to hand-made bricks. The surface of the concrete tile is painted with special wear-resistant paints. Of the minuses of such material, it is necessary to indicate the lack of frost resistance (with frosts and subsequent thaws) and as a consequence - a relatively short service life. Concrete tiles have a sense to use for facing buildings in warm climatic conditions, where there are no large temperature differences.
  4. Facade ceramic tiles are made of the same materials as the brick. In fact, it is an imitation brick and has its practicality, environmental friendliness and a variety of species forms. The disadvantage of ceramics is its small strength, especially in comparison with natural stone. The clinker façade tile, which is manufactured by single firing in an oven at 1200 ° C, has a greater wear resistance.
  5. Agglomerate is a tile made of a mixture of artificial and natural materials made in a special way (the so-called plasma-vacuum sintering). The agglomerate is super-strong, does not require complex maintenance and is available in any textures and color palette. And the only, perhaps, lack of this building material in low-rise construction is that it can not perform a load-bearing function, such as an ordinary brick . However, at the same time, the tiles are much lighter than bricks and natural stone, and therefore its shortcomings can be interpreted in a certain sense as a virtue: the installation of the facade tile is simple and is carried out already after the completion of the construction works
  6. Metal facade tiles are a high-quality facing texture on a metal base. Such fasteners are very convenient to install, and in addition, the fastening on the profile is not in vain called the technology of a ventilated facade, because it gives the walls "breathing".
